Žūns. Beginning.
A performance about who Optizūns really is and why he still lies under the swamp and cries today.
"The myth says that the world was created like this - initially there was pure creative energy, which gradually condensed and formed the center of the earth. Its crust cooled and grew over with layers. This creative energy is called the goddess Opte in the mythology of the Junists. The goddess Opte sent her son, Optižūns, to the earth to do good to people and animals, to share the creative energy. At that time, beavers were big, and leeches were also much larger - about the size of a loaf of bread. This is known in history as the Great Beaver Period. Optižūns took the form of an underground spring, and when he came to the surface, he gave water to all beings. He was happy that he was doing good. Gradually, art arose, because the first people drew and drank from Optižūns, as evidenced by cave drawings and totems."
The performance was created at the "Optižūns" festival in July 2021. It was performed in a swamp. The material was created in creative conversations with the entire production team.
